I'm sure he will be there. Are you not allowed to 'reserve' him? I know one or two of the rescue centres do that as obviously they have to do home visits, and of course if there are other dogs in the family they have to make sure they get on.

no they can't Kallis, incase somebody else wants him.. Casey might not get on with him, then he would lose chance of a home!!

think so obsessed at moment cos just craving for something good to happen, not connected with IVA or money

we've decided to go for a younger dog, as somebody our friend knows has a 20 week staff dog, which he kept from his own dogs litter. He can't manage 3 of them. going to have a look at him today.. he looks lovely from photos..

I feel as a younger dog maybe better for the cat as he can be trained to leave her, an older dog would be harder i think. Plus cat only has 3 legs so i think a big 3 year old Staffie may have been a little too much for her..

called shelter today and told them, they were fine. feel guilty but hopefully bruce will be sorted soon..

Angela, that sounds great. Hope they both get on.

You might have to keep him away from the cat for a while though - you know what puppies are like - they just want to play!

Let us know how you get on.

I have 5 cats and the puppy is now 16 weeks. She's getting bigger by the hour...honest!Anyway, what I wondered was?My cats live upstairs now and I've even started to feed them upstairs. They listen out for dog sounds and run outside when she's asleep. She adhores them.Wants to play and barks alot. They hiss and spit and warn her.She backs off. Will they ever get on?I want the cats to realise she won't hurt them ..she did get too close to my small girl persian once though and placed a very heavy and excited paw on her and nearly sqashed her .Any advice!

I had two cats and a very placid, friendly dog once. They never got on. Every time they saw the dog they would hiss and spit at him. Had to make sure they were kept apart when in the house.

hi ang

just read your post! you are going with your instinct and normally that is right!

a puppy will fit in easier, let us know how you get on!

cat, we have introduced a kitten into the house whrn we have had dogs but never the other way round, i do hope the cats start to accept your dog though!
