But they didn't say anything about insolvency.... When he saw that they would do a credit check, he said that he wouldn't pass that and was about to tell all about the IVA. She said not to worry, as long as he wasn't bankrupt and hadn't murdered any of his previous managers, that wouldn't matter. If...

Yes, I'm his wife... sorry.. didn't realise he was posting too! He's been in shock most of the weekend as he got the call late Friday afternoon from the recruitment agency to say the offer had been withdrawn, so I was trying to do a bit of detective work behind the scenes as I think he should speak ...

I know bankruptcy involves a court judgement. My understandng is that an IVA doesn't - it's an agreement between an individual and his/her creditors, it's legally binding but did not require a court judgement to set up. Am I right?

Thanks for your responses. Here's a related question - when you have an IVA is that a court judgement? We thought no, but the form my husband completed when he was offered the job asked if a court or bankruptcy order had ever been awarded against him. He answered no. They were going to do a credit c...

What would normally show up on your credit file if you are in an IVA? My husband is in year 3 of his IVA and got a new job a few weeks back. He's completed all the references and other required paperwork but was told yesterday that the job offer had been recinded. Part of the process the company was...

Thanks Melanie. It probably was explained but I think my husband was a bit overwhelmed by info at the time so he wasn't sure and the letter that came with it just said to sign and send back so it got us a bit worried. I knew a quick post on here would put our minds at rest. Really don't know what we...

My husband's IVA has just been approved. We've been sent form RX1 Land Registry - Application to enter a restriction - and he's been asked to sign and return to his IP. Can someone just tell me in simply layman terms what this form is for? We understand it's to protect the creditors' interest in the...

Have you tried Solpadeine - the soluble one... you can swoosh it over the tooth in question. I find it's the only thing that really helps with toothache. Tastes foul but shifts the pain. Hope you get it sorted Skippy, nothing worse than toothache! I cracked a tooth last week so know how you feel... ...

You know, Barry is kind of 'one of us' - he's been bankrupt twice over his career and has 'picked himself up, dusted himself off and started all over again', not that that's a Barry song of course!! I'm going to try and dig out the Homer version of Mandy... never heard it either!! How funny! And I j...
