Thanks so much for the feedback. Barclays have finally agreed to pay out on an old PPI policy that they initially refused. It was a small policy but done over a long time from around 1998! So whilst the PPI payment isn't huge the interest is almost as big in itself and would make a huge difference t...

Hi all

Does anyone on here know if DFD have ever refunded the interest portion of a successful PPI claim?

Or if there has been any judgements on if the interest portion should be refunded to the debtor?

Thanks

We were with DFD and out IVA ended this last October so similar age to your parents IVA. I totally second what Foggy has said. Highly unlikely their IVA proposal or chairmans reports says anything about secured loans - more likely to say remortgage or extension for 12 months. There this would not pe...

It's good to hear Lesley that your daughter benefited from the hindsight of your struggle. I hope that one day our daughter will understand and learn to be savvy with her money too. Lisa I agree - I was never taught about how to handle money so when credit was thrown at me I had no knowledge of how ...

Weirdly I will be telling my daughter all about our IVA when she's old enough to understand money. I think it's a great warning for her and if she can learn from my mistakes then all the better. That said it's not in my nature to throw out important documents - no matter how many years are passed lol.

Just because you have the CC does not mean problems might not arise in the future. Creditors do not always have correct info or up to date records - I know this personally. I have also heard of people occasionally having post IVA issues that required paperwork to clear up. It's your choice of course...

Absolutely get your own valuations. This was pivotal in our IVA and made the difference between an extension and none for us. Our thread about what happened to us is here: http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=59652&whichpage=1 Two estate agents proved the 'desktop' valuation our IP had done...

We are not on this website thankfully but I'm watching this thread in horror for those that are! Having looked at the website you can even search by first half of a postcode - giving you instant access to peoples info in any area you choose! I hope it's taken down soon as this info being Google sear...

Barclaycard bordered on harassment for us but it soon stopped a short while after acceptance.

Please try not to worry - I have seen lower offers than that accepted on here so I'm sure your IP would not put it forward without being confident.

Be careful. We hired a car with a debit card and they 'pre-authorsised' approx £400 off our account. This was in effect a deposit that they returned later. The money wasn't taken out but it was removed from our available credit - kind of held in limbo as it were until the car was returned. It meant ...

I just told a couple of local agents we were thinking of moving and they came out to give a valuation - I then asked them to email me the valuation along with their sales info so it made them think I was interested and they put it in writing for free. I didn't like doing it but needs must. Personall...

We refused the new 2014 T&C's. We did this because we found out that whilst the new protocol does have a 5k deminimus clause, any modifications set at time of IVA would still stand! Our chairmans report modifications had the 5k deminimus clause but a further modification that clashed wiped it out (D...

Because of the wording in our chairmans report we almost had this issue. Our troublesome clause read as follows: "If the amount of equity available in the property is under 5k, it is De-minimus and does not have to be released via remortgage. However the IVA should be extended by a maximum of 12 mon...

We were with DFD and they arranged for us to sign a 'deed of assignment' so that our IVA could be closed and PPI dealt with afterwards. Perhaps this is something he could ask them to do for him?
