I apologise if this question as been asked to death, but how long does an IVA remain on your credit file?

On the BR site I have just noticed a discussion which would suggest it remains on your file for the duration of the IVA [5 years] plus another 6 years = 11 years in total.

Is this correct?

6 years in total I do believe from date of acceptance.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It will remain on file for six years following the date of your creditors meeting. It is a nonsense to suggest that it would stay on your file for any longer than this, but you may have to be proactive in getting creditors to update your file for you.

That's rubbish.

You may find that some creditors default you after the IVA approval - one of mine has done it every month. Once finished you just need to write to said creditors and get them to remove the defaults.
