I am 3 years into my Iva. I have a son with a disablity in which i receive a disablity living allowance for. This money is for him and we only spend it on him. Do we have to declare that we are receiving this money even though it is not ours

Hi Stephanie and welcome to the forum, I would certainly think to declare this would be correct but I would also tell your IP that you have a son with a disability and the money is specifically for his care I'm assuming it is? All the best x

I'm pretty sure Lesley is correct, but hopefully one of the professionals will be along to advise further.

Buckle your seat belt Dorothy, 'cos Kansas is going bye bye.

29 down, 31 to go.

Hi,

Thanks for the help.
I feel disapointed that my sons money should be included. The money i receive for him is for his upbringing not to pay my debt.I have included this information into my review pack and hopefully all will go smoothly.

You have to declare the money Stephanie - but presumably all of that money is easily accountable for in the needs of your son - so this should not mean that your IVA payments have to increase at all.
