I am currently in an IVA, my partner has just become debt free by completing a DMP. She wishes to apply for a Capital One credit card to begin to rebuild her credit rating. Capital One are one of my creditors, will this cause any issues?

Hi and welcome,

If you have no joint debts then I can't see there being a problem. They do a soft search so it doesn't show up on your credit record.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Hi Paul, we have a joint mortgage and secured loan.

We also had a joint bank account and my partner was pursued for my share of the overdraft, which she paid while completing her DMP.

My main concerns are
1. Am I/We breaking any IVA rules?
2. Could Capital One chase her for my debt?
