Also what happens if i fail a iva ? Will it make my future credit even worse ?

If your husband had the debt then anything to do with his name will go to him if they are joint named debts.

You cannot pay the creditors directly and they cannot take the money. If you fail the IVA it is likely that the IP will go to court with a bankruptcy petition and may even try and get an injunction to protect the sale proceeds.

If the property was jointly owned your ex should be entitled to their share of the equity and can use that to deal with their own creditors whether joint or singly owed.
