Can I use a post office account to save some cash ?

I want to use a post office account to save some cash that doesn't go into a bank account.

I see no reason why not, as long as you are only saving money from your allocated allowances and shares of overtime, bonus payments etc.

The post office are now looking to close down accounts so I would look towards an account such as the Co-op

I opened one with the Yorkshire Building Society ( not bank) they do a line of e-saver accounts with online access.

We got one with Virgin online with no problems
Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away

Some firms try and grab savings but we actively encourage it. There is no harm in having a savings account if the bank is happy.

Agree with foggy regarding the ybs online savers. Very easy to transfer money into and out of.
