It did with me Michael - I opened a new bank account with a different bank and transferred everything across.

HSBC still continued to take money from the account regardless.

I opened a new bank with Barclays, transferred everything across and then tried to cancel the DD with HSBC but they still took out payments every month then put them back because there wasn't enough money to pay them and charged me for doing it!

No worries though as it was all covered by the IVA.

Just cancel it and see what happens.

There is no harm in cancelling this DD as it will not affect the new bank or the IVA.

What I would suggest is that you do any online banking, go into those accounts now and remove any contact numbers.

Great news stu,

Hopefully things will be a lot less stressful for you now.
