Can anyone please tell me if they have defaulted with a creditor, entered into an Iva, got through it and re applied with the same creditor and been accepted for a new card?

I've no experience of this but feel confident others may have so hopefully you'll get an answer soon.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Four years and I have just applied for a mainstream bank account with one of our past creditors and was accepted for bank account, saving account and overdraft facility.
Have been accepted for car leasing finance through ex-creditor.

Oh Thanks Thats good to hear. I was thinking of re visiting Barclays as they were my main bank for years and excellent but don't want to run the risk of applying until I get more feedback from the lovely people on here.

There have been posts recently where Barclays has opened a current account where they were a previous creditor.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Barclays and Halifax have both been good and were both creditors in our prior life so to speak !

Hi luluj, Thanks for the comment.. are you saying that you were with them both previously in an iva and then you went back to them again after your iva was completed??
This is what I'm trying to establish really as I don't want to risk any unnecessary credit checks if anybody has had issues themselves regarding this.

Pefectly ok...Your ex creditors will never know about the Iva after It drops off.All digital records are gone.Erased.

There is no ex Iva blacklist and the bank wouldn't ask about it for C.Card and small loans applications.

Everyone has missed payments as it is human nature.

No worries in getting borrowing services from the ex creditor Banks.

Banks perversely want people to live in the shadows of 'that iva here and gone', like an hidden extra marital affair in their mind.

As someone here have said...they really dont't know about the past iva to make that lending decision.

As it should be

Thanks Luluj, so you're saying you've had credit cards again with both Barclays and Halifax after defaulting both of them previously? and your husband got an account with Lloyds (another one of my creditors!!).
was everything accepted straightaway and did you apply on line or in branch?..sorry for all the questions but don't want to get it wrong should I apply for a card. I quite like the idea of the Lloyds Mastercard account which they offer combined with American Express for the air miles etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi Tzekin, Thanks for the info but how can you be so sure about this?.
I do want to apply for a card but don't want to make any mistakes by applying to the wrong banks.
