Will Creditors look for receipts for childcare payments. I will be paying a friend cash in hand for child minding when I return to work next month and I doubt that she will want to be providing receipts. The cost will be £75 a week for two children so its not a high amount.

I would imagine so ... you can but ask.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I was asked to provide receipts or bank statements to prove childcare costs on my I and E for initial proposal , just but a receipt book and ask her to write them , not sure if an informal arrangement that isn't OFSTED approved would be accepted though as it's easy to fake ? Worth enquiring ? £75 is a lot for informal child care

Are you entitled to the child care element of tax credits ? They will pay up to 70% for childcare ( must be oFSTED registered though ) or you may be entitled to 15 free hours if 2 before 31 March to start after Easter ? ( it's now if you earn less than £16100 per annum )

£75 per week seems steep especially as it's a friends arrangement as such. Doubt the creditors would agree to that let alone your IP. Tho I'm no expert, so best check with the professionals.

Our IP needed bank statements for our childcare costs.

Good luck tho

I dont think £75 a week for 2 children is excessive to be honest. Wish mine was that!

it is for a friend ! My childminder is £3.50 per hour so £3.30 per morning and £5 after school was paying £150 per week when in day nursery for full time before he started school

But we dont know any details so cant judge value. The poster and friend must have discussed costs, hours/day, days/week, whats included etc. £75 per a week....2 children...for example £3.50 per hour per child would be just over 10 hours of child care a week. The poster may be paying less per an hour but require ++++hours. All im saying is it doesnt seem unreasonable but we dont know what their arrangement is.

yes you are right , not meaning to judge just wondering if she could get any help towards it if she used a registered provider , even if not entitled to tax credits there's the childcare vouchers - salary sacrifice , saves about 90 a month , every bit helps :)

Yes there is as long as the friend is ofsted registered. Vouchers may be useful but again i believe childcare provider must be officially registered.

Yes they must be ofsted registered but doubt her friend is if it's cash in hand ? Hope she pops on later to see the replies :) sorry if I've gone on a bit ! I manage a day nursery so tend to waffle on about childcare related issues ;)

I pay a day nursery to care for my 3 children.... 2 year old all day 3 days a week and 2 older girls after school and then holiday club!!!! So why i feel £75 a week cheap!!!! My childcare is more than my mortgage! Not eligible for tax credits and baby doesnt get childcare help for another year. childcare is variable and creditors usually sympathetic. Mel even questioned that our childcare was too cheap when setting up our iva.
