As long as you aren't buying and selling as a business venture they will not be bothered -- we all sell and buy using Paypal and the likes of eBay.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I want to sell some high priced items on ebay, two car stereos we no longer need. Even if I was to get what I want for them and have over 900 pound paid into account from paypal, would this be ok or would it be noticeable at review time?

My statements are littered with paypal entries and never had a bother. If you are concerned, and dont need the money immediately keep it in paypal account until after the review and then transfer it after

Just keep the money in PayPal, then spend it online.

That way it stays of the IPs radar.

Not that there is much of an issue selling your own possessions on eBay - the realised cash would not be expected to be paid in, as opposed to a windfall.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.
