I just want to give a little insight after IVA has finished. I did an F&F back in 2015 which was my 5th year and basically paid off the extension. Waited as advised for 6 years all defaults etc dropped off my credit file. I now have a current and savings account. Credit card and today I applied for a catalogue account and was automatically accepted with a high limit. I don't need the CC or catalogue to be honest but they help, along with mobile phone and the rest to help to bring up my credit rating. My score was practically worthless. I now stand at 4/5 and this is on the up. Life is good. Savings are mounting and I now no longer feel the need to live beyond my means. Entering an IVA was one of the best things I ever did. Just need to remortgage now to get rid of the secured loan for an acceptable rate. There is life after an IVA it seems forever at the time but no regrets.

Thanks foggy kallis you have no idea how much this site has meant to me the support and advise has kept me sane. Especially since creditfix took over from PJG I think that was the lowest time ever. But I need not to have worried. Creditfix were brilliant and extremely approachable and sorted everything out. Remortgage now and I'm done
Thanks Hubert. I read the posts on here religiously before taking that final step to enter an IVA. The moment of truth came when my young daughter wanted ten pounds to buy something and I just didn't have it because I was trying to, unsuccessfully balance everything. I literally cried and that was my turning point. My partner was made redundant 3 times in 18 months and it all came crashing down so I had to seek help. I'm smiling now but the relief that I had found a solution to suit me lifted a great weight.
Enjoyed reading your post and echo your words..IVA's are hard work when your on them but the long term rewards for a 5-6 year short term solution is debt freedom and your life back..Great post.
Well done stevie I have two payments left one on October 1st for 544 then I owe 302 on October 31st but gonna pay it off on the 5th as I have a five week month this month, the day can't come quick enough.FJ sent a letter with the details and said they aim to get the CC in six weeks,I hope that happens looking forward to this Christmas. It's been a long 75 months with payment break and overtime arrears but gonna be worth it

Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away
Every single post like this one have the ability to do something really special. They can inspire someone in trouble to reach out, make a call and change their lives forever. Many will be sceptical of an iva, they can seem too good to be true but real people are using them every day to rid themselves of unmanageable debts for one reason or another.
This place brings those people together.
Best of luck.
