My car packed in last month & I have been relying on my boyfriend to come pick me up & take me to & from work, now his car has packed in & he docent know if he can afford to fix it. The bus service to where I work is practically non existent so I'm going to have to get taxis which will cost roughly £50 per week. I had a variation last month to reduce my payments as I had to give up 2nd job due to health reasons.

I have 7 payments of 123 left. Do you think I would be able to offer payments to date as full & final, so I could use the money paying to Ivan to try & finance a car.

I have already paid over expected dividend due to poi, overtime etc.

Any input greatly appreciated :-)

It is always an option and is often accepted. I was half way through my IVA and had, due to overtime and PPI already hit my dividend, when circumstances changed, leaving me a single dad to a, then, 6 year old --- my IP suggested a F&F on payments to date and it was accepted. The support of your IP is important and I would suggest having a frank chat with him / her. Best of luck.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Thanks Foggy. I'm getting myself worked up about having to ask the IVA comp for something again. They are one of the better firms but just feel like I'm asking a lot.

I really need a car for work & hospital appointments.

I'll bite the bullet & phone them tomorrow.

Spoke to McD this morning & said i had to put it in writing & IP will have a look. So I've emailed across the letter explaining the situation.

Hopefully they will think its good enough to put to creditors.

Just quick update on this McD are going to put proposal forward, I just had to get redemption statement from Halifax & a valuation.

Now got 2 estate agents out today to value, (£12K roughly difference between the 2 of them), neither would give a written valuation unless I paid £200, which i cannot afford. McD said because its a f&f I may have to pay this myself. I have now got a Zoopla valuation which is closer to the higher amt by estate agent but is close to what my redemption amount is. Not sure if they are going to be able to accept this valuation, waiting to here back.

That's bad that you have to pay for the vaulation - I managed to get a free one by saying that I needed a quick sale due to being made redundant and got it in writing. No way would I pay that much money!

Fingers crossed that you get a positive answer back.

Just had email from McD & they will accept Zoopla.

I think estate agents are becoming more aware of free valuations.

Also just shows the difference in prices they can give. First estate agent took more into consideration the work that needed done. Second one, I think just wanted to get me on their books.

I think it's bad that they want to charge that much money! They get a fair amount of commission from each sale so a few freebies shouldn't make any difference.

Hopefully the F&F will go through ok.
