I noticed my name now says the Iva is complete, but will still stay for 3 months. Why is this, if they are happy it's completed take me off,

Policy is that it stays there for three months, but it often goes sooner. I was there three months to the day !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

We had to email them because we were still on after 3 months of completion. Needless to say we were removed that day!

That's the biggie -- it is the modern ( an wholly unnecessary)version of the stocks !

Once you are off the IVA is, at least, out of the public domain.

That was always the one part of my IVA I detested, some other bits I didn't like but that part could have done without.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

An iva is great in many ways to sort out debt and put your live back on track but some things aren't great. Why keep us on the register when we have paid back the money or completed? And why drag things on for an extra 12 months winkle PPI is sorted - they will get all the money. Winge over- but still glad I took this route

The whole process is a little antiquated - most polite thing that I can say.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

But to clear my debt I'd still take the iva route and all its baggage

Not sure I would - the whole process leaves a really sour taste in the mouth with a distinct feeling that it is designed to keep you in debt to the various companies.

I accept there are the "good guys" but the whole profession is not doing itself any favours.

Unfortunately the insolvency register is beyong the control of IPs but I agree it should be scrapped or there should be a charge to access it. This would then allow those with good reason to search it [such as probate solicitors] but the nosey parkers would not spend the money.

I kind of agree with you but that would be against the government transparency agenda.
