Hi Bombshell ---- yes, this happens frequently. The problem is that early claims were often refused or underpaid and the FO ruled that these should be looked at again. They were re-visited and some more paid out on previously refused or underpaid claims.

THEN, the FO decided that the banks were still trying to get away with it and ordered fresh claims be submitted.

The upshot is that even previous claims had ( have) to be re-visited (and often re-authorised by the debtor to the claims company) to get the refunds actually due.

I should add that it is also quite possible that the claims company overlooked the original debt -- some of the companies used do not appear to be the shiniest spanners in the toolbox !

GT have recently changed to SHL (which has got to be an improvement over the previous encumbants)who did my claims and they were very efficient.

Hi foggy thank you for your imput and reply.

Two years ago claims broker where used and found nothing.

I then had a missed call from Slater Hayward Law on Friday but left no message. I googled them and found that GT use this company for PPI. I no doubt think they will call again next week.

Do I go along with another PPI claim? Or say say that a claim of PPI found nothing two years ago (I have the emails to prove this). I have not applied for any credit whist on the IVA and

thanks

It is up to you --- if you do not go along with it you won't get your completion certificate is the bottom line. Personally I would have painted my legs purple and stood on my head !!! (Maybe not :-) )

;) I best go along with it....

I'll co-operate with anyone if it means getting my completion cert....

But on a plus note... It must mean the email I sent last week must have kicked the wheels in motion when I asked them how long it would take to finalise with my last payment approaching in 41 days [:)]

Thanks

Although I am not with GT I walk past GT House almost every day at the moment and do a mental fu for everyone:)
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

It all depends upon the speed the creditors take to respond. I know GT are pressing past clients to sign over PPI on finished cases ( which circumvents the possible court ruling regarding PPI post completion ), maybe they will take a deed of assignment to speed things up. This will mean that all future PPI claims that might come to light will belong to your creditors.

Okay that's useful information. I hope they can take into account that a previous PPi claim that was done through GT actually came to nothing two years ago.

I was previously with Blair Endersby and GT took my case over 4 years ago. But when GT took it over it was them that authorised claims brokers to claim PPI.

Is it worth sending them the email from claims brokers where they confirmed to me there was no PPi or would this have been sent to GT from claims brokers?

Always worth sending a copy. In my IVA I was guilty of overloading my firm with information. This has three "benefits": They cannot accuse me of witholding anything, it builds up a relationship of sorts and you are usually at the top of whatever pile you happen to be in at the time.
