can my dad be a guarantor for me letting a property if he has a iva but is still employed? he was a guarantor for me before he got a iva and i need him to be one again.

He wold need to check the terms and conditions of his IVA and if unsure then speak to his IP.

As Declan states he must ask his IP about this, my gut feeling is that it will not be allowed because it may affect his ability to fund his IVA if you run into problems

I would not agree to this if I were your IP. There is too much risk and nothing to gain from the creditors perspective.

Would he not be credit checked as well? If so, I couldn't see a firm agreeing to it.
