It depends. As I understand it your bankruptcy is on the register within 24 hours of the order being granted.
The OR may or may not tell the bank before the interview, but the bank may have arrangements with a credit reference agency to flag such things much quicker (in 24 hours it could be on the register, in your credit files and in a bank managers inbox).
I am speculating here, but I suspect it could and may be being done. I know the lloyds group pull credit files once a month, whether you have credit with them or not
I used to work in a bank (many years ago) and I always remember getting a copy of the London Gazzette from head office if they see a name that is the same/simmilar to a customer of our branch. It was then up to us to verify if this was the same person
