Following on from my thread on Marlin Financial Services earlier regarding a default credit file that was a mistake. I had W3 represent me.

Good news is I spoke to my former IVA team this morning and they have spoken to Marlin regarding this and it appears one of my accounts was moved on AFTER completion of IVA.

They sent me a copy of the emails they sent them completion documentation etc. So hopefully this will be resolved shortly.

Ive been customer for 10 years with the lender without issues of payment and although I was borrowing up to the max Loan to Value 85 percent it was affordable and my adviser agreed based on income, outgoings etc

The adviser said underwriters rejected me based on risk, my borrowing history, IVA completing only in October. Given that i have not missed a payment on anything now for the last 6+ years etc, I have all essential insurances to cover my job if I was made redundant or died also I would have thought the opposite.

I am determined not to let this hold me back. Any ideas please would be welcomed.

I would suggest having a word with our mortgage experts, Ryan and Shaun. Their details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab ( top left) and scrolling down to Experts Details.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I think as Foggy suggests that Ryan or Shaun may be best placed to offer advice as mortgage experts. Maybe worth contacting them direct.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

thanks guys

I just spoke to a gentleman at Zebramoney. Very helpful and upfront / clear on what can be done for me.

Although there are some fees involved the cost of the overall mortgage is actually lower payment over the same period of time than my current lender.

I just need to get this Marlin credit file mistake removed and things should move swiftly on.

There is light again.

So glad that Zebra money could help you and hoping that Marlin error is removed as soon as to enable you to move forward.

thanks guys.

Am hoping that I can move on and put this put behind me.

Lesson is what most well known banks don't tell you is that it takes 6 years for the IVA etc to be removed but you won't get a mortgage from them for at least 24 months after it's removed.

good post and good to know the underwriters can screw up a mortgage proposal?

You need to probably wait for two years at least to approach a high street lender as we have seen from goodlife's post. The only proof we have seen here.

specialist lender your best best now.

Once credit report is free of defaults and mention of iva all should be ok, but i would use a broker still to source the right deal.

Having spoke to Marlin a week ago the incorrect default has been removed from Experian and Call Credit reports. Not sure about Equifax yet.

Looks like I will be contacting Mike at Zebra once again regarding the quote I had. Existing mortgage lender is unable to lend what we are requesting.
