We are due to finish our IVA in June after 6 years with 12 months extension.
Having learnt a BIG LESS0N !!
( DONT OVER DO IT )
We want to move house as soon as we can if we are able to get a mortgage ??
What sort of time period should we leave it to start looking for a mortgage
Thank you
You can start straight away john.jk, however don't be surprised if your options are limited whilst the IVA is still a matter of record. There are a couple of reputable mortgage brokers who post on the forum, and I am sure that they would be happy to give you some initial advice as to where to approach.
Do you have equity in your property to use as a deposit on a new one?
Ryan and Shaun are both mortgage brokers who have good experience of sourcing mortgages for people who have had iva's in the past.
Once the IVA and any defaults have been removed from your credit file it is ok to try ...but remember that each attempt will leave a footprint on your credit report so I would urge you to be sure that the credit files on equifax, experian and call credit are all clear.
We have just secured a remortgage with Ryan at Zebra money with a high street lender. It can be done but does require some patience.
Contact details for both of them are on the members tag above (a-z) ..or via the 'ask the experts a question'. (ryan is listed under the members list at the moment .... He is on holiday, but Mike from Zebra is in the office and covering all enquiries.)
