I am half way through an IVA, and have contacted my IVA company because I cant pay it any longer. I have failing health problems and costs for hospitals and things I need to help with my independence means higher petrol costs ect. I have struggled all along with the payments, now I cant go on any further. We have a car, which is in the garage at the moment with a bill for repair of £650. I have started the process with my IVA of having to fail it. I have had a cheque in todays post for £700, made out to The exector of (my name). Seemed like the answer to my prayers, now I find out my bank wont accept it because it is subject to the IVA I am in the process of failing. I need our car, I cant walk, we have no public transport out here, and the seven hundred pounds would have sorted this out. Is there anything I can do, can anyone help please.

You should speak to your IP about having the payments suspended, reduced and even a closure of the IVA based on what has been paid to date. IVAs are not supposed to be punishments and your IP should be able to help you.
