As long as you are just witnessing a signature there will be no problem.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hi there!
My actual question has been written down wrong:-(
my friend asked me to be a witness on a mortgage application form, which I have now done, however I am worried that the fact I am currently in an IVA this will affect her application?
Thankyou kindly
jen

Hi Jen. No it should not have any effect. Your participation is merely to witness that the person who signed the application is actually the person named in that application. They will not do a search on you for credit-worthiness.

You are only witnessing to say that your friend correctly signed her application forms in the presence of someone independent to her - so nothing you have done will affect her application.
