I am halfway through an IVA and i am a homeowner. I have a joint mortgage with my friend but we are now both looking to settle down with our partners and sell the house we currently live in. My question is, if i sell my current property will i then struggle to obtain another mortgage given that i am still 3 years from completing my IVA? I have never attempted to apply for credit whilst my IVA has been running. The IVA was a 6 year one just for your information. Thanks

You will not get another mortgage whilst in the IVA ... full stop !

Even squeaky clean applicants are being put through the mill these days !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

As foggy suggests gaining a new mortgage whilst in an iva will be very difficult, if not impossible. Have a chat to one of the mortgage brokers on the forum who are the experts in these situations - they may be able to share some further advice that we are unaware of. Their contact details can be found via this link http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/forum_experts.asp
look out for Ryan or Shaun
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
