Hi Guys,

My IVA ends in December 2015, my wife and I will then be looking at getting a mortgage. Typically how long after the IVA has finished would I be likely in getting one?

Thank you for any help/advice!

Max.

Hi Max. We have two experts on forum: Ryan and Shaun, who have placed mortgages for Ex IVA'ers, once the credit files clear (6 years from the start of the IVA). Much will depend upon the deposit available and it gets easier ( and cheaper) the longer you can wait.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

As soon as your credit file is free of all defaults and sign of iva it is worth approaching someone like Ryan or Shaun ..both mortgage brokers with experience of helping clients with past credit issues.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !

Hi,
As advised by the others, you would be best to wait until the credit file is clear of the IVA ie 6yrs from start date, so you obtain the best rate
Happy to help when you are nearer the time.
