Hi Kelly- my husband was self employed through our entire IVA. We were with mccambridge Duffy - they specialise with self employed. ( michael peoples from mccambridge Duffy posts on this forum) they are a good & reputable company.
During the iva you will have no access to any credit facilities. For us this wasn't so much of a problem but I think It might depend on the nature of the business. There are a few other posters who are self employed/ run business who will hopefully be able to post their experience to you -
IVA COMPLETED & CLEAN CREDIT FILE.
An old bible proverb says this: the rich one rules the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.
IVAs were originall designed for the self employed to allow viable businesses to continue to trade. There are restrictions on credit but by preparing projections and cashflows at the beginning it can be determined what if any facilities are needed.
