Hi all we made our final payment in January this year after 5 weeks of no confirmation from DVD I emailed them, 3 days later they replied saying payments were complete and to cancel our standing order. This week we have received a text asking us to text back 'yes' so they can contact our creditors for a variation. has anyone else received or know what it means.

I would assume this is the variation they are proposing to allow them to deal with PPI post completion of the IVA. I think the variation also brings the arrangement into line with the 2014 Protocol.

I would consider it extremely bad practice to consign such a matter to a simple "Yes" text without full discussion of what they propose.

But surely our arrangement ended on date of last payment which was 6 years after it started any variation should of surely been discussed before completion of payments and end date of arrangement..Our PPI was satisfied I'm boggled and I agree the 'competition ' answering style of the text is dispicable

No, the arrangement continues until such time as you are issued with the completion certificate, even though payments have stopped.

PPI is also recoverable post completion, but, once you have the certificate there is little pressure they can bring to bear to get you to co-operate, so they either hang on to the completion certificate until PPI is finished or get a deed of assignment formally transferring rights in PPI to them.

I imagine everyone in an active IVA is getting these over time and they don't check as to what stage you are at.

surely a formal written letter should be sent out not a text which is very unprofessional.

I agree ... A text is not appropriate way of communicating such a request
