I have recently gone into an iva it was all in my name, my partner has applied for a loan but has been denied due to the 'address' having adverse credit? So my question is why is he being penalised for my mistakes.

Most lenders, these days, tend to discount such a link. However they do look more seriously if you are linked financially by joint accounts, or joint loans.

But, at the end of the day it is up to each lender what criteria they use.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

There is technically no such thing as an address been blacklisted. The creditfile follow people not addresses.
There cannot be a joined bank account between you to avoid this risk and to fix this is to have an entry by your man in his C file to disassociate with your finances in a couple of sentences.'Notice of correction'

He then would be able to get credit. Not a serious problem.
