We have completed our IVA final payment in June !!!

We really want to sell and move to a bigger house and get another mortgage
Would it be worth applying to high street lenders or our own bank ??

We have never missed a mortgage payment or paid late
Any advice would be appreciated as we don't want to get turned down on our first application, Our current lender is northern rock and I don't think they do mortgages now ?

No - NRAM are no longer in the mortgage market. You will have no luck until such time as the IVA is removed from your credit files ( 6 years from the start date).

To see about cleaning those files up, see here:

http://pjgrecovery.com/clean-up-credit-rating.asp

After that my advice would be to speak to a whole of market broker, although a few advocate going into a high street lenders branch and asking. This has, I gather, worked for some and new products are coming on to the market all the time. Personally I feel that, if you choose incorrectly the first couple of times, the refusals will mar your new shiney credit file.

We have a couple of brokers who regularly post on here who have helped quite a few of us ex-iva'ers get sorted. mortgage-wise. Their details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab (top left) and scrolling down to the Experts Details Section .... you are looking for Ryan and/ or Shaun.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi,
As Foggy has said, be careful doing you own research, as getting this wrong will affect future applications.
You need to be over the 6yrs on the date you entered in to the IVA.
Make sure you go to a mortgage broker who specialises in people in your position, i would be happy to help
