I have completed my iva some 5 years ago and I'm trying to apply for a remortgage to complete house refurbishments. I have good equity but have been turned down three times by my mortgage provider! I have 12 years to go on the existing plan! Can anyone suggest a provider who would take me on??

I would suggest that you chat to Ryan and / or Shaun who are both whole of market brokers. However the three refusals will have damaged your credit file, so you might have to wait awhile.

Their details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab ( top left) and scrolling down to the experts details section.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hi

You really need to use a mortgage provider rather than going direct to the lender

Good luck

Your own lender will know about the IVA whereas a new one may not. Definitely contact a professional broker who I am sure will be able to help.

5 years since your iva, that episode should have been buried by now and no longer have any negative influence on you especially with the building societies...
Have you ensured your credit file is clean with no or little unsecured borrowing that may have put you as a risk to New lending?

You are remortgaging and not a first time buyer...should give you More leverage?

Refusals aren't aways iva linked....there are many other contributory factors. We are all different in The C agencies eyes.

CR firmsare using completely incomprenhensible pseudo scientific profiling of entire populations to assign credit status.
