Hi all,
I've been in my iva since June and all has been fairly quiet apart from a few calls from creditors.
For the past two weeks I've been bombarded with text and calls from people wanting to talk to me about my debt problem! Where do these people get my name and information from?! It can't be the insolvency register as that would tell them that I am already in an iva

I don't think they have YOUR number -- after PPI it is going to be the next "phone bomb" campaign. They will just ring numbers knowing there is a very good chance that many people who talk to them WILL have money problems --- they are ambulance chasers on the whole.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

You may also get letters saying they need to talk to you about your IVA - ignore them if it's not from your IVA company.

it doesn't matter that you're already in an iva - the ambulance chasers will try to get you to go bankrupt and charge you a massive fee for the privilege! Ignore anyone whose not your IP company.

Can you block the numbers? I tend to do that but do join the TPS (for what it's worth) too. I agree it's a pain and hate any marketing call received.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi

They have most likely taken your details from the insolvency register and will try and get you to agree to an assisted bankruptcy at a huge cost
