Second annual review coming up. Mother who is 86 is now in a care home. My eldest sister placed her there following a stroke earlier this year thinking that all the costs would be met by the LA. However the costs actually exceed the amount paid for by the LA. Options to move her to a home that is within the LA cost limit have proved to be unfruitful for a number of reasons not least the affect it will have on mother. Now the children, 9 of us have agreed to pay the excess (£25 per month each) so she can stay where she is. Pretty sure this won't be allowable as an IVA cost but thought I would ask if anyone has had similar experience before I speak to Mel Giles' team.
