Hi.
Are any others in this forum teachers or school staff and do they inform HR that they are entering into an IVA. Would it not compromise your professionalism if a parent or colleague saw you on the insolvency register. Not sure whether this is the route because of this. Any advice please

I've recently stopped teaching at the end of the last academic year and never once told HR, I checked my contract of employment and it wasn't written in there at all.

My IVA concluded successfully and nobody was any the wiser.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I'm not sure an iva could be seen to compromise your professionalism as a teacher.

We have a number of teachers in IVAs and have never heard of any problems. Many teachers have also gone bankrupt with no adverse problems.

Its not uncommon for teachers to enter IVAs, but its worth checking your employment contract to be sure.
