I finished my iva with grant thornton in feb 2013 and got my completion certificate about 10 months later.
I have now been awarded ppi claims of £1400, do GT have any claim over that?

Hi Leigh, I too have wondered the same question as I have been advised something similar, I have responded to your post in the hope that Melanie Giles may respond as she seems to be an expert at pretty much everything on here. Hope this gets answered quickly for you.

We had a PPI claim after receiving our cc and our company let us keep it, but this was a couple of years ago.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

Skint til payday - Melanie is cuurently working on other projects and us away from the forum for a while.

If you have received your completion certificates abd full closure, removal from credit files etc then as far as I can see the money is yours. One of the ppi form questions would have been about past creditors and iva/bankruptcy etc so had it had to be paid over I would have hoped it would have been done automatically for you.

If you were aware of the ppi monies while the arrangement was still live you might have an obligation to declare it. What does your windfall clause say? That said, I suspect that nobody will come knocking now that the arrangement is ended. I was not so lucky because the ip identified ppi during the course of my arrangement and claimed the monies under windfall clause. Oh well, water under the bridge. Btw, it took ages for your cert to come through! Mine was sent within 2 weeks of final payment.
