I am struggling to organise a new mortgage after being discharged from bankruptcy 3.5 years ago even though I now have a 47.5% deposit and never defaulted on my current mortgage. My mortgage advisor said he is struggling because there seems to be something in the background of my credit report stopping them moving forward. While on the phone to NRAM today re. trying to port my mortgage their advisor queried an IVA marker against my name, to which I replied I'd never had an IVA. There is nothing showing on my Experian or Equifax reports except for the bankruptcy and I wonder if this is the problem I am encountering and/or what/where it might be?

Have a chat with Ryan or Shaun ..both forum experts in the mortgage field. Their contact details can be found on the left under ask the experts a question.

I can personally vouch for Ryan ..both have had success on helping forum members.

Hi,
You need to check with a company called Callcredit, you can get their report from www.noddle.co.uk for free.
This company are normally very out of date with data, but for some reason mortgage lenders now have started using them.
You need to check you are off the insolvency register also.
I would be happy to look over your reports and see if there is something i think might be the issue.

I've found noddle to be highly accurate with their records.

Paul

Ryan,

Is this different to the Land Charges Registry as I've checked into that record and that wont come off until next June (5 years after bankruptcy).

I will check CallCredit today. Thank you

Hi all, Mark here. I don't know if any one saw, but I posted a link in the 'credit after IVA' chat.
Now my problem amongst many others was managing mortgage payments and bills etc but what I watched and learnt here has helped me tremendously, giving me tools to better my finance. Im not going to into detail here but if anyone has time you can watch and get updated here: ******WEBSITE REMOVED AS NOT ALLOWED****

Nick,
Yes this is different. www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk
To be honest, what you are trying to do is very complex, you need to ensure your broker knows what they are doing, as you could get caught out in a number of ways, or be paying a higher rate than you need.

Mark,
Being honest, should you really be putting this post? It has nothing to do with what is being discussed

'NRAM'...this conjures up tales from the dark side.I read a no holds bar article on these remaining'bad bank' NRock mortgages out there of 100,000 remaining and 10% are in default.
Many want 'out'of NRAM and go with a normal bank. The casualties from the horrendous NR implosion.

Virgin money should have compensated you guys....but instead took the best part of NR and left the rest for the state...

You definite need a broker for mortgage application if you linked with NRAM to get out of NRAM.
No doubt about it.This is one where if you go it alone you will be caught out!
