Can my husband take out a mobile phone contract while I am in an IVA?
We are registered at the same address & have financial links via the mortgage.

Many of us actually in an IVA have managed, so it should be OK.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Yes he can.

Although his financial association with you may cause problems.

All you can do is go somewhere like EE or Carphone Warehouse and see. If he has been PAYG with a particular network, they may let him go contract.

Alternatively, look at the 'Shebang' network, who promise mobile phone contracts with no credit checks.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.

I have been accepted for a new contract with Orange (now EE) and with another company BuyMobiles.net (2 contracts with them) with no problems whatsoever. Tesco Mobile turned me down so don't bother applying to them.

That's good news too. There was a time no one would be entertained for a mobile phone contract whilst in an IVA.

I got a sim only contract for £15.99 a month whilst on an IVA - unlimited texts/2000 any network minutes with ee! Sadly I didnt get a free phone so still stuck with my brick :-( affordable for the though.
IVA complete March 2014 after 6 years.
