I know in my contract it mentions financial difficulty, so I'm worried about even asking about it, bringing attention to it, I haven't taken an IVA yet but I need too, I'm not sure what's for the best, if I ask and I'm not allowed one, I'm truly stuck, in a worse mess than I am now. More worried than before.

Hi Vicky there are many financial sector workers in IVA's, but this will depend upon your own employment terms and conditions.
You could contact the FSA on a no names basis. Plenty of financial advisers have entered IVAs but it has caused problems for some independents. If possible ring HR and have a word with them as something is going to give in the near future.
hmm - I guess you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. It does depend on what you contract says - but I would be very surprised if taking out an IVA would mean you would lose your job. It also depends very much on your job role and if that role involves making decisions about lending money or giving credit. It might be hard, but maybe talking to HR and explaining you are experiencing financial difficulty might just be the right thing to do?
