We completed our IVA in june 2013 and have now been told that it has finally been closed as of 31st Oct. We are desperate to buy a house and would like to know if the chances are slim?

When did your iva start? Pre Oct 2008 and things look up. Contact Ryan or Shaun in the experts section. They can help. From what people post on here, it's not hopeless!

The chances are slim while the IVA is on file ( 6 years from the start date). After that all will depend on the deposit available and things do improve the further the iVA recedes into the past.

As relieved says, have a word with either Ryan or Shaun ( or both) they have a lot of experience placing mortgages for us ex - IVA'ers.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
