Hello, I am filling in my yearly review, and our expenditure regarding food and petrol has gone up... How do I prove this as it's just the cost of living and have no receipts to prove this.
Kind regards
Tracy James

The guidelines normally go up each year so your IP should be able to help. However, Stepchange have reduced some guidelines this year including fuel and parking so unless you are doing more miles you may need some justication.

Older vehicles use more petrol/diesel especially those not serviced regularly so this could be a contributory factor in your increase in fuel costs.

Stepchange have also frozen the food allowances for 2014 despite what you see in the shops. Hopefully your IP will allow reasonable increases in your budget rather than sticking rigidly to the Stepchange guidelines.

Hi Tracy, I would suggest including the figures, as they are, in the calculations and seeing what your IP does with regard to including any increase.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Keep your receipts now for the next month and these will provide an average.

Also have your bank statements not got any entries on for petrol and food purchases ??
