Many banks will allow a basic account -- do not approach HSBC or First Direct -- it will be a "No". And no bank connected with any creditor.

Co-Op Cashminder is a popular choice and I have heard Barclays are quite good.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I opened an account with Barclays. Told them I was in an IVA, no problem, nice and easy.

And Barclays was one of my creditors - but Foggy is right it's probably best to avoid creditors.
One pay-cheque away from oblivion!

You really should move to a bank you have no debt with. Avoids any mishaps when setting things up.
