My IVA finishes in April. Any chance of borrowing on our mortgage to get work on house done ?

Hi there,
My IVA finishes in April and we desperately need to do some work to our house. My mortgage is up to date and has never been in arrears, and I ideally would require to borrow on the mortgage to get the work done. Is there any chance of Halifax agreeing to this? My income will increase in May so I will have no trouble in meeting the repayments.
Thanks
Sarah

Have a word with Ryan and / or Shaun, two whole of market brokers with experience in adverse credit.

You can find their details by scrolling down to the experts details on the page on this link:

My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Hi Sarah,
Can you advise what date you entered into the IVA?
I can then let you know if this is possible
Thanks

Hi Ryan,
My IVA was approved in April 2009. I was allowed to extend it by a year which is why it will end in April.
Thanks

Hi Sarah,
Once the IVA has come off your credit file, ie 6yrs from the date it was registered and your credit file has been updated and cleared of all adverse entries then there may be options for you to do this.
