Hi

My husbands iva was completed 2years ago now. Do we stand any chance of being accepted for the help to buy scheme?

Thank you.

You can aways apply but the big question is whether 'a recent iva' will affect your chances of success in a help to buy loan? This question has never been answered by any one here as it is based on You and the bank in question.
You ought to speak to the participating help to buy bank and ask them for some advice before applying.
HTB is not your usual 95% loan mortgage. As 20% if it is a government loan subsidy.

As said, it all depends upon the lending criteria of the lender in question, some are more sympathetic than others.

It might be worth having a word with Ryan, a whole of market broker with experience with adverse credit applications.

Hid details can be found under the "Ask a Question" tab (top left) and scrolling down to the experts details section.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

It's certainly possible and we've helped people in similar situations in the past. As nonewdebt says, there's no one-size-fits-all but it will depend on your individual circumstances.
