A question on behalf of my daughter.
She is thinking of taking out an IVA for some unsecured debts. Will the IVA affect her partner from applying for a mortgage in his own name( not a joint application).

It shouldn't do if they are not financially linked in any way.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

As long as they have no joint accounts or joint debts there should be no problem.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

He should think about making the application now and the banks can pre approve him for a set amount of money. This is valid for a period of time and is released subject to survey so he could then house hunt knowing he has funds in place.
