Hello,
Me and my wife considering to apply for IVA, but I have some questions before I go further.

Both of us have debt, but none of them joint account. Some creditors had been payed off already. Consolidation loan would be better option but actually it is hard to get now days.

Is my credit file will be affected if only my wife apply?
Is the applicants need to settle all the credit accounts even if some payed off?

As long as you have no other joint accounts ( electricity, phone etc) one of you in an IVA should not affect the credit file of the other.

All accounts with anything owing will have to be included. Any that have been paid off will need to be closed.

Speak to a few firms to see who you feel happy with -- the larger firms are harder to deal with but suit some.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Best to have a meeting with an IP to discuss through your options. It also depends on what assets you have and your disposable income. find an IP in your local area and set up a meeting - most good ones will not charge you.
