I would be grateful if someone could answer me a few questions, I am approaching the end of my Iva and have 2 payments left
I have just paid equifax for a run down on my default notices, the questions are really about these.
1) As I understand it defaults are normally issued and stay on your credit file for 6 years, my first payment on my IVA was July 2010 and the majority of the defaults were issued before or a few months after the date of the first payment on the IVA. I have one default that was issued almost 13 months after the first payment on the IVA, is there nothing I can do to wipe this off sooner, just don't understand why it took so long to be issued.
2) Should my IVA be seen or appear on my equifax report ?
I know little about credit files so hopefully someone with more experience can answer this. However I would think that the default notices post IVA will need to be removed but someone else can confirm this.
Your IVA will stay on your credit record for six years from the date it started and then it will be removed.
As to defaults - these should not be on after the date of the IVA so if they are, once you get your completion letter then contact the data controller from any firm who is still defaulting and tell them to remove the default back to the start date.
