They shouldn't but make sure that you don't owe money owed in the same group of companies.

In reality Halifax is just a trading name.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

The only banks I know that will freeze accounts are HSBC and First Direct (same company really). I had an account with Barclays (no debt) and also a Barclaycard which was one of my creditors. I had no problems at all.

Doesn't matter with HSBC/First Direct. They are known for trawling the Insolvency Register and, even if you have no debt with them, they will usually close down your account.

Clanger, some simply do not pay attention .. see the IVA, or reference to a Trustee and assume bankruptcy procedures apply and freeze the account -- easy to rectify with a few wise words.

HSBC and First Direct are simply anti-IVA and will close as soon as they find out -- they do trawl the Register.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
