After paying first instalment of IVA, why did company I was in debt with take money ?

I paid first payment of IVA. Why did company I was in debt to take £83.47 ?

Hi and welcome.

They should not have taken any money at all - speak to your IP company and query it with them.

Make sure you cancel any direct debits/standing orders you have set up with previous creditors.

phone your bank and tell them it should not have been paid. They may be able to take it back. make sure you have stop all your D/D and S/O. to stop any more payments
IVA now over with and it was worth it.

It maybe that they havent received confirmation of the iva approval .. two different departments not talking to each other.

Cancel and direct debits that shouldn't be there and inform your IP ... it maybe difficult to get the money returned now but in the long run your IP may be able to deduct that from future payments to that one creditor (not 100% sure if this is do-able but just a suggestion)
