Help required

Hi
Can anybody help me. Im trying to source the company who financed my car back in 2002- 2004 but have no details as it was a while ago. I have spoke to my bank (Halifax) to see if they have a record of whom my DDs were being paid to but they said as it was so long ago they dont now have records of this. The car garage itself is no longer there but another garage in its place (This may have changed a number of times over the years). Any ideas where i might be able to get this information?

Hi Stuart - I assume this was paid off and no longer showing on a credit report?

I'm guessing there must be some way so hang in there and hopefully someone will be along very soon.

Yes, paid off long time ago and no longer on credit file

Is there a specific reason why you need to know this info?

Did you lease the vehicle or was it on HP? If leased the V5 log book held by DVLA may have it.

Not sure if this would work but could someone run a finance check on the reg plates for you ..this may bring up the history of the car ?

It was HP, Not leased, and the reason is because of the PPI claim thing. Im sure that the monthly payment included this and im sure they told me (Genuinely) that the it had to be taken to finance the car

Any idea who i could speak to do a finance history check of the car and will it say who financed it

I'm going to have a word with my son as he was a car salesman (no I wouldn't buy a car off him) for a while and when hubby bought a second hand car elsewhere he ran some check on it for him.

unfortunately he wasn't much help as the HPI will confirm current finance outstanding he doesn't know if there is anything like extended checks. Sorry about that.

Hi Stuart - have you called the new garage and asked for details of the old one? They may have bought the business from old co or even be the same Company, having gone bust the first time so staff might remember. You could also try google to see what results come up for garages at that address.
