Do we have to inform IVA of wife's disability payment rebate and hand it over ?

Hi, my wife and I are in our second year of our iva and have just received a rebate from the working tax credit as my wife is on disability and wasn't being paid the correct amount, my question is as this is a disability payment do we have to inform the iva and hand it over ?

Some may say that as yiur disposable income would have increased by this amount over the time, yes.

The only way to know for sure is to run it by your IP.

Hi,

You may have to hand over some of the rebate and your IP will have to know of the increase in your credits.

Hopefully one of the experts will be along shortly with some advice.

If this is for disability it may have ebeen excluded anyway. You will need to inform your IP but they may not feel the need to take any of the money.

Best to inform to see how your IP treats it. Come back to us if you think they are not being fair. If you don't disclose and it comes out later somehow this will be a breach of your IVA.
