Hi
Just wondering how long you can be in an Iva? I started mine jan 2008 and I am still paying into it. I was told it will be finished. September 2016. I have had over 6000 ppi ho into it. I know this doesn't count but cant see an end to this. Any ideas? Please

Hi Chappie,

Are you sure this is an IVA and not a DMP? Which company are you with?

Can only echo what kallis3 has stated.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Looking back at previous posts Chappie has made he is in an IVA and has experienced a fair few problems along the way.

I personally would speak with your IP direct to ascertain the exact position of your IVA and how you're going to move forward to end this.

It is possible that your IVA could run this long if there have been payments breaks for example and an extension for equity. You need to check with your IP to find out when exactly it will end.

Thank you. I am with DFD. I had an equity release clause.but lost my house. I was then made redundant ao instead of paying the 286.00 I paid £150 for a year. I started making full payments in Feb of this year. All my ppi payments have gone in and I offered a full and final but was told it wouldn't be accepted. I am now being told my Iva is due to finish Sept 16.

There is a bit of daylight but still a long haul. Try and see if DFD will ask creditors to close the IVA down based on payments to date given the length of time already. They can only say yes or no.

Ask Laura for a written explanation as to the delay so you understand why you've had such an extended time.
