Hi guys, need some help. I have just finished my IVA and have the completion certificate, and I have had a letter from black horse about £2038 ppi refund that is being sent to grant thornton. The question is black horse was never one of my creditors. I had a car threw them and never missed a payment even while in my IVA. Do they have the right to keep this ppi cheque. Any help would be great , thanks kieran
I'm afraid that this would be regarded as an asset of the IVA irrespective of the fact that you now have your completion certificate.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
Also it doesn't matter that Black Horse weren't one of your creditors.

Thank you for your expertise in this matter. Appreciate it. Grant thornton told me halfway through my IVA that I would receive any interest after the IVA is complete. If I knew I was going to get £8500 in ppi payments. I would not have had an IVA in the first place. Oh well. HIND SIGHT. THANK YOU
You aren't the only one to find that the PPI created the need to go into an IVA.
